Carving In The Ozarks
April20-21 2012 EurekaSprings,Arkansas 2012 RULES
We want to thank you for showing an interest in our carving festival for this year. This is our 8th year to host Carving In The Ozarks, and we look forward to meeting everyone involved. Here are a few basic things we need to go over with everyone.
1. Carvers attending agree to donate the pieces carved at the event to
our auction. All auctioned pieces will be split 50/50 and must be carved on
location. Donating these pieces allows the carver to be a part of our
event and also allows them to sell carvings that they bring with them.
Carvers have the right to bid on their pieces that they carve, However,
buying your piece at the auction will eliminate you from placing.
(example... If auction brings $400 on a piece and carver knows he can sell
for more somewhere else, He can buy it back for the 50% the event would
get, $200.) This is only on carvings that you carve. If you buy someone
elses carvings you pay full price.
If our logger cannot get the pine logs, Split will be 60/40 and you bring
your own logs. I WILL LET EVERYONE KNOW IN FEB. WHERE WE STAND
ON THE LOG SITUATION. LOG SIZES ARE 6 FT X 24 INCHES IN
DIAMETER. IF YOU NEED SLABS YOU NEED TO BRING THEM WITH YOU.
2. Carvers must provide all display and booth exhibit equipment for their
booth. ALL CARVERS MUST PROVIDE NETTING FOR THEIR AREA.
3. Carvers selling product from their booth must collect a 8.75% tax on all
items sold from their booth, and taxes turned in to us on Sunday. Tax
forms will be provided at registration.
4. All carvers must complete 2012 registration form and submit to us by
April 1st 2012. If we get full, a waiting list will be started.
REGISTRATION BY PHONE OR E MAIL IS NOT ACCEPTED
All funds collected go towards our bills and the remainder is donated to
local charities. Each year we pick 2 different local charities for funding.
Our registration booth will open at 10 AM on Thursday. Log drawing will
be held at registration on Thursday, and logs delivered to your booth on
Thursday afternoon.
The event will be held at the old Hitchin Post campground at the
intersection of Hwy 62 east and Rockhouse Road. Watch for the big tents
and banners.
